For christmas, I decided to make my nan and grandad a homemade present. At the time, I couldn’t sew and the stitching on this is poor!
-First Get two socks and trim them to a suitable height for your ‘chefs’.
-Use a fair amount of stuffing to fill out your chefs.
-At the bottom of the chef, I used a small slab of old plastic to keep the larger chef upright, but I suppose a better idea would have been to use rice at the bottom. Using rice will weigh the character down and will allow him to stay up right.
-I chose polkadot fabric for my chef’s hat. Carefully measure your character’s head and cut the corner of the fabric off… creating a pointy hat.
-Next I attached two buttons for my chef, they were white.
-I drew on a cheesy smile&added an bow to his neck.
-I also put on a chain which was used from an old broken necklace.
I hope you liked my idea. As I mentioned before, this was my first project so it’s a bit scruffy!
White cotton socks, polkadot fabric, plain buttons, snapped necklace chains, dicky bows or a simple ribbon tie.
