It’s been a year since I got my first sewing machine = I started to sew (I had some experiences with my mother’s machine earlier too, but she didn’t lend me it always…) and after a year finally I started to learn how to draft my own patterns, the first year maybe I focused on learning how to sew neatly…
so this is my first dress with my own pattern.
when I decided to start learning pattern drafting, at first I bought 5-6 meters cheap white fabric, like art student with white canvases… :P I intended to use this fabric only for trying if my pattern works well or not, but once I started to work with it, I realized that WHITE inspires me a lot, much more than I expected, maybe because I’ve never had a white dress yet :) so I ended up finishing it with lining.
because it was the first time to daft patterns myself, I wanted a simple design, but then I realized white and simple dress is not something for beginner at all so I added buttons like snowman has.
cotton white fabric and polyester lining, antique buttons from my grandma and zipper.

This is a lovely, simple, classic dress – fab job for your first time drafting! I love the idea of the white fabric being like a blank canvas for an artist – so very true. I really like the neckline on this dress – nice work Sweets!
