BWOF 6/2008, #103 pattern.
A shorts pattern I used several times, and made one pair of pants with few minor alterations. This time, I altered the pattern more – I wasn’t satisfied with the crotch on the back, so I played with it a bit. I am not quite satisfied with the back of the pants, but it was the best I could get with this pair without making a muslin. So, next time, maybe I’ll get it right.
I altered the pockets – made jeans style front pockets, but with angled shape. Also, I added welted back pockets.

The pants are great – I love the fit at the top (you know how things should fit better, of course, but I personally don’t see a problem there) and the slightly flared effect you achieved by narrowing the knees. Also I like the new shape of the front pockets combined with the wider waist-band. Great job! As always! Oh, and the blouse does go so well with these pants!

Gorgeous pants, fits you perfectly, I cannot believe you made that out a short pattern. Wasnt difficult to make the pattern longer? BTW your blouse is the perfect match.

It is easier than you think – I lenghtened the shorts’ legs to the desired length. When I put all the pieces together, I shaped the legs a bit (narrowed them down around knees).
I worked with this pattern a lot and thought it would be easier to alter it since I know how it fits me, than to trace a pants pattern and test it all over again. I hate making muslins, so I try to make corrections on every piece while working on it.

Fantastic job! I don’t see the problem with the pants at all and they look like a perfect fit! Always looking forward to your next creation!

Klasse! I think it is quiet difficult to fit a trousers pattern. There are so much details you have to conisder. This one turned out well – operation succesful! :) You looks gorgeous!
