i finally got the cate pattern right. (ish.) i had to really go through the instructions & make some corrections (many thanks to lauren fortgang & juneann), and made changes to the length, gathering, lining & straps… not to mention my husband’s antics…

very thin jersey knit, i think it's cotton. at any rate, it's a material that doesn't like so much to be picked apart at the seams oh, say, around 12 separate times. is there any material that enjoys that?

Congratulations on your creation, the fabric makes it look like a designer dress!
As a lot of others, I’m also struggling with this pattern. Thanks to people like you, I have been able to come along pretty well, but I’m still looking for the measurements and instructions on the bow that goes on the original Burdafashion 7983 “A” dress. You don’t happen to have any ideas on it? Thanks a million, and keep making these beautiful dresses!

Funny how you just get attracted to certain fabrics… your dress reminds me of something very 1970s… standing around the swimming pool, or the BBQ with a tumbler of pretty potent punch.

I love that you stuck with this and made it work in the end. It’s giving me courage to get back to the dress I messed up before going on holidays

Jul 24, 2008, 08.11 AMby oonaballoona
wow, i couldn’t believe i had so many comments when i woke up! thanks everybo-dah! the fabric is from my favorite store in arkansas, hancock’s. it’s a chain but this one seems to be more mom n pop. i took everything they had left on the bolt and it STILL wasn’t enough for the skirt! i had to add triangular panels at the side bottoms :)

Beautiful! I love the maxi skirts where the fabric pattern is big enought to change from top to bottom like that. Your creations have such style, Oonaballoona.
