This dress was made from the same material as my strapless brocade cocktail dress. This is a dress that slips right over the head, has welt pockets, and little knife pleats at the neckline and larger inverted pleats at the hem where the skirt is gathered at the band. It can be worn alone for a edgy, voluminous silhouette, or belted high on the waist for a more hourglass silhouette.

erdronen: I didn’t use a pattern for this dress. I probably should have, since the fit is looser. As a result, it doesn’t look very good un-belted. It’s actually kind of awkward fitting all over to wear as opposed to just shoot pictures in. Any secrets to mastering the bubble/pear shaped construction would be appreciated!
