I loved the Holly Golightly mask jodika posted and thought it would make an excellent gift for a friend of mine who travels often and, thus, has a need for a comfortable sleep mask.
I made the mask out of blue felt, padded it with polar fleece and lined the back of the mask in a soft, stretchy fabric in turquoise and gold. I glued false lashes to the “eyelids”, which was a lot more complicated than expected because the extra-strong glue I used basically adhered to everything EXCEPT the felt mask. A band of black elastic keeps the mask comfortably positioned.
In the end, I’m really happy with the results.
