This is my entry, a sidonie skirt with inset featured fabric box pleats. topstitched pleat detail and single welt pockets with feature flap and button. I used a fabulous camo inspired skull fabric for the features and a gray drill for the main. it looks a little bit like a school skirt and a little like a military skirt.
I modified the pattern by slashing down the dart points and separating the skirt into four parts. then attached the contrast fabric and box pleated it into the skirt. The pocket flaps come from the nichola pants pattern and the zip is concealed under one. I self faced the waist rather than adding a separate band for a cleaner look. it also means it can be worn lower on the hips which suits the urban style a little more.
Drill and printed canvas
burdastyle for the lovely pattern, great challenge idea and for fixing the image problem!
my dummy for breaking at the last minute preventing me from taking photographs of this skirt actually on. it’s very flattering, slim fitting with a kick at the end.
