Description

Feminine style + edgy printed fabric + leather = the perfect jacket!

The petite fit of this Puff Sleeve Jacket is perfectly fitting to my curvy body. The flared center back pleat and puffy sleeves are wonderful details that make this jacket special. Since the silhouette of this pattern was so feminine I decided to make it in a more edgy print, so when I found this waffle knit skull printed fabric I knew I had the perfect match.

I didn’t want the jacket to look overwhelmed with the print, so I also used spandex leather in some panels to break it up. This was my project for my August Mash Up so you can see how I modified the style to accommodate a zipper and additional style line. I almost don’t care that the summer weather here is coming to an end, because now I can layer up my outfits with this jacket!

Printed waffle knit polyester, Nylon / Spandex leather

The shoulder detail is nice. I might attempt to make this myself soon.

Thanks so much Mary, I appreciate your feed back on all my projects :) Yes the original photography doesn’t do this jacket justice, that is why I always look at the technical drawing to see what its potential can be.

i normally look at the line drawings first in case the fabric used makes me dismiss an item. everyone dos’nt have the same taste wbich is a good thing as then we can get creative.i missed this jacket though as the lines on this are perfect and i just know my daughter will adore your version x

You welcome!! I love sharing my sewing and design process with the community, as I hope it inspires other sewers to take a second look at a pattern and see what else it could become. Thanks so much, I really value your feedback!
