Sister's Kyla

Added Oct 13, 2009

by rawrrrxamanda

Springfield, Vir...

I made this for my sister’s homecoming dance. It was a bit hard for me to make cause I’m a beginner and only 13, but I really loved it!

Material Notes

I didn’t use silk jersey, I used satin for all three parts and a zipper.

I think I actually like this better in satin than in the original jersey. I hope she was pleased with her dress.

You’re all like hey guys I’m a beginner and I’m only thirteen but look what you did, girl! Converting a stretch pattern into non stretch and adding a zip is pretty impressive :)

upon further inspection, the next time you make it consider a lighter fabric (chiffon sheer, or a lighter satin) for the drape part. i think it will hang better.

other than that, i’m in love with what you did. i might have to copy cat!
