Description

These pants were made from a plain weave stretch cotton based off of a pair of Banana Republic “Martin” fit slacks.

I created a pattern from the existing pants and modified it to give this design longer, looser legs with the same fitted low-rise waist. I also added a 1" single pleat to each leg.

The waist closes with a zipper and tab with two columns of three buttons. The top of each pleat is closed with a matching row of three smaller buttons. Each pant leg ends in a wide cuff.

These pants were inspired by the androgynous menswear trend I saw while in New York City in the summer of 2008.

Material Notes

black stretch cotton, vintage buttons, gutermann thread, invisible zipper
