This dress is like pleat city! There are pleats all over the skirt and pleats on the cap sleeves. It made for a slower sewing process and it also makes for a LOT of ironing after you start washing and wearing this dress. But they are so pretty! I decided to line the entire dress because the cotton I used was lightweight and didn’t hold as much shape as I would have liked. The lining helps give it more retro-inspired pouf, which I like. I also added pockets in the skirt side seams.
I used a Japanese cotton for the dress exterior and an acetate lining.
