A couple years ago for Halloween, I decided to make a little black dress and be “couture witch” complete with a feathered pointy hat fascinator on top of my head. I had read posts by other bloggers who love this pattern, so i decided to try it for myself. This was the final confirmation that I do not like criss-cross bodice darts, but it was a cute dress for a day.
I used remnant black satin backed taffeta (the front side is midnight blue) and made the black satin side the fabric’s right side. It was rather heavy for a day dress and hot in the afternoon sun, but it looked great! I haven’t worn the dress again because the fabric isn’t breathable.
