A major sewing goal of mine this year is to work on improving my finishing techniques. I made this simple elastic waistband skirt, which allowed me a chance to practice making French seams. I’m proud to say that not only do I like the outside of my new skirt, but I like the inside too!
I included some instructions for making this skirt, which would make for a great beginner project. This is my first try at a tutorial so if something is unclear just let me know and I’ll try to clarify.
You can also find this project and the tutorial on my blog
To Make This You’ll Need:
-Around 1 yard of fabric, maybe a little less, maybe a little more depending on your measurements
-1 strip of 3/8 in. elastic, cut to fit snugly around your waist
– Fabric scissors, thread, iron, pins, sewing gauge
