When I went through my recently deceased mentor, inspiration and grandmother’s sewing things I found this silver thread that I instantly knew that I wanted to do something with. It was to frail for the machine so I had to do it by hand, which I know my grandmother would be pleased about and therefor made it more meaningful.
I’m not the biggest fan of peplums, but for some strange reason the pattern/fabric ended up way way way too short so I had to make the best out of the situation and deal with the cards I had been dealt.
I really wanted to finish the garment after spending hours and hours of hand stitching all of the silver thread on the bust piece and having savored the fabric for something special. I can’t really say that I’m a 100% pleased with the finished work but it’s still better having finished it than just throwing it away.
Silver thread, 14" zipper, very thin cotton.
