Made this last winter for a ball/party. It was an end-of-season sports related event and there was a dresscode of a different colour for each team. And we got gray. Gray? For a ball? That’s wasn’t good at all, so I decided to make my gray silver.
It was a real challenge to cut the silver fabric – it was just so pretty! And also slippery as hell.
I altered the pattern so that the sheer yoke has no shoulder seems and also changed the skirt to A-line. I wanted a gathered skirt for this, but there was not enough fabric for anything else. I did a narrow hand rolled hem for neckline and armholes.
Also I whipped up a petticoat, so the skirt stands in a pretty bell and because petticoats are just fun.
The results are in! Check out our winning submission.
