Description
Part of the same project as the satin dress. Coat of embroidered silk, interlined in flannel, and lined in satin. I redrafted the sleeves to give them the pointed shape at the hand and added a wrist opening with 8 self covered buttons as closure. (Susan Khalje’s book, “Bridal Couture” was a huge help in redrafting the sleeves-I highly recommend having her book on your shelf, if you are going to be doing a lot of bridal/formal sewing). The hat was a Vogue pattern. I used a vintage mink jacket to cut the pieces for the collar, and hat trim. I have done a lot of fun, challenging projects the last few years for competitions and wearable art shows-time to clean out the closet to make room for more!
