Description

I think this one is the last tunic based dress for now. I have mixed feeling about it. I still haven’t put buttons on it and haven’t worn it yet.
All in all I feel it is somehow too old for me and I have no idea how to fix it. Maybe I should make it short as a blouse or make the skirt tighter. But somehow I don’t imagine it working…
Sewable

Material Notes

The fabric is a beautiful 40% silk 60% cotton voile

I think you are right. The sleeves are the main problem. And maybe the shape of the skirt. I have to shorten the sleeves and maybe make them loose. I will think it through. Thanks for your help!

I thought this was at first a lace dress with a sheath under it. Cute. But I clicked the pic and it quite see through and yet hides a bit more. Even cuter. I like it.

no its nice, i like the fabric colour and you’ve sewn it well. Just add tights, heels (or broguess) and a belt. You can shorten the sleeves (maybe shorten them and add elastic to the cuffs to make a sort of puff sleeve?) or if not then wear it with a cardigan :)

I like the summer dress idea…and i really like this tunic…i would pair it with a leather belt, take the band of the bottom of the sleeves so that they are loose…and make it a v-neck type of dress….with a long necklace that would add a small POP of color…it looks very bohemian to me…

I think that a different color tights or slacks would make a big difference. When I looked at the photo the first thing I saw was the black color. The tunic’s tone is perfect for your coloring.Cordially, Nehmah

I would line it and then wear it as a summer dress (when it’s finally summer again) with a belt. I agree with bijouxbetty about shortening the sleeves.

    I would make it shorter.

I like it. but I can see what you mean about mixed feelings for it. Maybe make the sleeves shorter. I have noticed on dresses that they tend to design shorter/cap sleeves on younger fashion, & longer ‘short’ sleeves for older women – as they like to hide their ‘bingo wings’.

Or tidy it away & come back to it in the future when you are ready to face tunic based dresses again!?
