I made passing mention of this pattern earlier in my Ute post, and here it is, as promised. I bought this pattern because it promised extensive instructions for how to do lots of common alterations, but there were a few small problems with this grand plan: 1) after reading the instructions I figured out that I would need to cut a much smaller size than I usually do to do a FBA, but I’d already bought the larger size range of the pattern, and 2) the pattern had so much ease in it that I would have cut at least a size smaller to begin with, FBA or not (four inches of ease! I seriously appreciate Burda patterns now).
So, here is the resulting top, which you can see is probably a bit too big in the shoulders, and the armholes are definitely too large. Nonetheless, I think it’s pretty cute and wearable. Since the pattern was big enough that I could slip it on over my head, I eliminated the back buttons and put a keyhole opening in there instead. A whole row of buttons up the back probably would have been a nightmare anyway, as I am surely not flexible enough to do those up!

I think this top looks really nice and very wearable! Good work on the learning curve!
