I made this silk hi/low hem tank top from Simplicity 1693 pattern for my lovely niece Anika. I used the wrong, matte side of the black silk charmeuse fabric for the top and the shiny, face side for the bindings. I made all of the seams French seams and made my own bias binding for the neckline and armholes. I used a pretty multi-faceted glass button for the back closure.
I shipped it off today to Amsterdam, Holland where she lives (my sister is her Mom and her father is Dutch), so I hope it is in style there, that she likes it, and that it fits her!
I have another identical one cut out and ready to sew for myself. I look forward to wearing this as I have made the same pattern before in a turquoise silk and I love it! Sorry the photos are kind of boring, but I snapped these quickly right before packing it up to ship off. Maybe Anika will send me some nice photos of her wearing it.
