After seeing a couple of these in the blogosphere, I decided to whip one up in some silk I had just bought. It was a pretty easy sew, I’m a beginner, and the only trouble I had was with the silk shifting (it’s pretty light and stretchy on the bias). I took in the sides an inch or two around the waist to make it a bit fitted. I also disregarded the bias tape instructions, I followed sewaholic’s tutorial where she folds the bias tape under to make a finished edge, and no tape showing on the outside.
It’s quite lowcut, so next time I’ll raise the neckline a couple inches, as is I wear a tank under it for work.
100% silk of some sort. Flimsy.
