This is my version of the Bombshell from the class with Gertie. Wow, what a challenge, but so much fun, and quite the learning experience!
I added an inch at the top of all the bodice pieces for a bit more modesty, you can hardly tell though, ha!
I want to make this again, but in a casual fabric, and maybe just the top. For now, I just need a couple simple projects before taking this on again :)
The dress made it’s debut at a wedding, with a short black blazer for a little warmth.

Gorgeous! I’m also taking that class, and you’ve inspired me to start on my muslin! Your dress is just perfect.

Yes, do it! It was certainly a challenge, but worth it. I felt like I learned so much from this class. Can’t wait to see what her next one is!

Everything about your dress is perfection: the fit, the color, the polkadot underlining! You did a beautiful job!

Beautiful job! I signed up a few weeks ago and have purchased green silk and a print for the lining too! Snap! Although the colour of your green silk is nicer than the one I got – mine’s a bit deeper than I was expecting. Where’d you get it?
You’ve inspired me to get cracking.

Thank you! I got the silk and the lining at Mood in Los Angeles. The silk was only $14 a yard, can you believe that?!? Usually I find it online for over $20. The green is my absolute favorite color :)
Yes, get cracking! Can’t wait to see how yours turns out, it will be fabulous I’m sure!

Go Go Gertie! I adore your black and white polka dots hiding on the inside against that fabulous green silk. Lovely!
