This is my very first go at making knickers, let alone pin-up pants… and what a joy! My daughter thinks I’m crazy to spend the time and the money on such ‘big pants’ but I don’t think I will look back! These are made from 100% silk with a stretch. Probably the most expensive item of underwear I own but they feel great!
The wonderful pattern is from Burda Style magazine, issue 01/12. The instructions called for a side-zipper I think because their version had a non-stretchy tulle overlay. My fabric on the other hand was stretchy. It was a risk but it worked fine without the zipper! I used elastic lace around the waist and leg holes and finished with a little hand tied ribbon bow at the top.

They look gorgeous! I bought some stretch satin and elastic last week to make these and the bra top. Very encouraged to know you’re so pleased with yours :)

Thank you Debbie. They feel great to wear. Makes me wonder if I have ever owned a pair of nicks that fit properly!
