I made this formal shirt for my husband using Burda 7767. The fabric is red silk jacquard, and I stitched it using silk thread. I opted to use sew in interfacing because silk cannot be ironed at high enough temperatures to guarantee that iron in interfacing will stick properly.
This project took between 40-60 hours to complete. I made a complete version of the shirt in muslin first to test the fit, then made the final version in silk.
4 yards of silk jacquard fabric, 1 spool of silk thread, red plastic buttons, ~ 1/2 yard sew in interfacing
