silk flaps

Added Feb 16, 2012

Broechem, Belgium

I found this silk fabric, 20 euro per metre, so i bought 0.5 metre.
A while ago I took a picture of a blouse with those flaps on the shoulder.
I thought this fabric would be perfect for this project.
It did not turn out perfect but ok. Around the shoulder and arm must fit better.
I didn’t make a good plan for the flaps, I attached them wrong, i think.
to make i worse: silk is very hard to work with.

Material Notes

100% silk

I think you should give yourself a little more credit for this. It doesn’t look cheaply made due to the fabric being good quality and I think the shoulder bows look like they are meant to be like that. I say Good Job!

I think the neutral/conservative color was the perfect choice for a shirt with those shoulder flaps. Great job!
