I completely fell for a top that a woman walking in front of me at work was wearing….a blue blocked top. This top is not at all the same (the inspiration also had amazing architectural sleeves), but is very heavily inspired by that top. Once again I shopped my stash, this time looking for this particular blue and a couple of coordinating fabrics. All I could find were a rectangle of silk (only enough for the upper part of this top – basically nothing left over) and a cosy sort of jersey. I wasn’t sure they’d sew together nicely but they did! Sometimes it pays to be a slow-motion kind of seamstress :-) The pattern is an old Butterick classic, the same as used for my polka dot silk top.
More pictures and info on my blog as usual.
