The instructions were very easy to follow, I didn’t have too many difficulties with the pattern. Nice, simple and elegant.

I love these! They look so well done, and they look great on you. I’ve heard the shorts pattern is sort of lacking in the instruction department, and I see that you used different instructions. If I’ve never sewn shorts or pants before, would it be too hard to decode? I’ve been dying for a pair like this!

Well, I think it’s possible to get it all right with the downloadable instructions. Because I was making pants first time myself even though I was using instructions from the magazine I had to look up certain elements additionally on the internet. But that’s just a part of the process. Look, if you need any advice at all with these, I can may be try and help you :):) Just let me know!

I was thinking maybe some linen to assist with de-stashing, but will also give a very wrinkled look, oh well.

Really lovely shorts on you, very ‘Country Road’ looking, but with a tailor- made fit just for you. My daughter (who’s new to sewing) has this pattern traced and ready, we just adore anything with bows. What fabric did you use ?

Thak you! I’ve used poplin, but to be honest it’s probably not the best option for these shorts as they get wrinkled all the time! I just wanted something simple :)

These are super cute! But I don’t agree that the instructions are easy to follow… I think they’re awful. I’ve been stuck with this pattern for around two weeks now.

Ok… yes I agree the instructions that I’ve downloaded were a bit brief… at the very least. I just had a copy of the instructions from the magazine itself. And they were quite clear, but referenced another model of shorts. At the very beginning I was completely stuck, but once I worked out what was giving me a pain, it just came so easy. Now reading it back I think it’s pretty simple. But I can completely understand you!

shorts are very cute and would keep you cool in the feral heat we are having here in Oz. I really need to do something like this – for some reason i have more winter clothes than summer clothes, despite living in hot brisvegas. Not sure what happened there???

They look great! I’ve had this pattern traced for months, and I’m searching for the right fabric to make them :)
