Description

I referred to vintage McCall’s 8523 that I received by online swap. This Indian silk fabric also came with it. I made some changes to the pattern and it turned out more contemporary style. I trimmed jacket edges with a long tie with tucking. I made attachable bow ribbon like cap sleeves. I will put them on when feeling girly girly :)

Material Notes

Indian silk

The jacket and the sleeves are gorgeous! I’m curious about how you did the sleeves. How are they attached?

ok, here is a brief instruction.
      1. make two layered bow
      2. pinch and sew in the middle of it
      3. make a tie and sew onto 2.
      4. sew right and left edges of lower bow together
      5. sew snaps on inside of dress shoulder and the tie ends

      it’s simple, isn’t it?

Is the sleeve cap actually formed by overlapping the two tails of the lower bow, then? I really love the effect.

Hello Jeyco!! your 2 pieces is absolutely fantastic!!! elegant, clasic, simple clean lines….the fitting is perfect and the finishings are just… to die for!! The added bows make a wonderfull change for when you want to use the dress by itself, and that finishing edges on the jacket….I just love it, love it!!! wonderfull job!!!

that trim is flattering more than i expected. it’s because of the light and shade of the fabric. don’t you think? thank you for your comment. that makes me delight :)

that isn’t magic. things all you need are hands, fabric, and sewing machine to do this :)
