This is my hot pink version of the BS Coat from the BS sewing handbook that I so adore! The pattern is much the same as in the book except the bottom is chopped off! This was a marvellous happy accident. It went like this – I found a hot pink remnant of wool felt at fabric shop and whipped out the credit card faster than you can say ‘credit’! I got home and was amazed that all pattern pieces fit perfectly on the fabric…and in my shiraz cab-fuelled glee, I cut the fabric. I proceeded to put the jacket together only to wonder ’where’d I put that centre back piece?‘. Oh yeah, I didn’t cut out the CB piece!!! After fishing the jacket out of the bin, I decided to cut the CB piece in two pieces from the bottom pattern pieces of the coat. It worked great and I just love my jacket now!! Now that’s an example of forced creativity!

I love it when an “unplanned” plan comes together. It is such a pretty color. I’m glad that you didn’t give up when you realized some of the pieces were missing. Well done!
