Shirt Identity

This project was one of my first set on my Foundation year. It was based on our own identity, and creating that through the use of a shirt, refashioned however we felt suited. My project ended up being based on basically how clumsey i am. The shirt was supposed to start off with elegance and was inspired by grecian statuettes, then inevitably things go wrong and the shirt starts to fall apart. I did want to throw ink on it to further explore the idea of clumsiness, however with the fascilities i had to photograph it, and wanting to use it again i decided that i would possibly do that at a later date. These are just a few of the photos that i managed to take, unfortunalty had some issues with lighting so i didnt get as many as i hoped but this is the general idea!

    I really like the double collar, if you were going to do a shirt that would make a great detail. Mixing the draping with the tailored button down white shirt. Hmm, could be a fashion metaphor for being a free flowing person in a button up world? ;}

    This is so amazing. I feel like I’m watching a shirt have a life of it’s own and be tailored as you wear it. All of the fabric is unfolding and molding itself into a sleek blouse. I love it <3
