I decided to make some shirt dresses for the girls. I used a pattern for a shirt and just extended it down to make an aline kinda dress. I added a lining, which wasn’t too hard, pearl snaps instead of buttons, and shirring around the waist. I think they turned out pretty good. I used a poly/cotton broadcloth. I realized too late that I should have understitched the lining around the neckline, but live and learn. I think I’m getting a little better, I still need to work on my hemming skills and finishing touches (the inside seams are a mess), but overall I’m happy with the way they turned out.
