This is my first sewing project that I can probably wear out in public…lol. This summer dress took about a day and a half with long breaks in between. Based on the errors that I committed, I would recommend the following: (1) If you have bigger hips, use hip measurement for your pattern instead of your bust measurement; (2) If you have the bigger chest, use more spacing between the rows you will shirr. (I hope this makes sense.); (3) I added elastic underneath my bust line to secure the shirred dress.
I was having a difficult time with the elastic thread and tension, so I will be buying a separate bobbin case strictly to hold elastic thread.
