I found a pretty cotton tissue jersey remnant (least I think that is what it was) in a dark red-pink that is one of my sisters favorite shades. She lives 5000 mile from me so I had to guess the sizing a bit, luckily we are the same shape…. just had to guess what 2 sizes up from me would look like I can see from the pic (Sis is pic 1 that’s me in pic 4) got it slightly too narrow across the bust, so will add in an extra inch center front for the next one.
This is the Lydia pattern with 2 inches added in at the front center – and then shirred (thanks to Elegantmusings for the technique) ….I also cut the neckline higher – think I used the one for 2-3 sizes smaller. For the neckline I used a bias strip and twin needle to finish, with one line of stiching just above the neck seam and the other just below….I left the inside edge raw as twin needle gives you a overlock type finish on the reverse side and jersey does not fray :)

thanks for your comment on my pants! I really like how this top came out; I should try my hand at shirring sometime :)
