When I saw this pattern, I knew I had to have it, and then I found this lovely fabric for $2 p/m at my local fabric store. I think the universe meant for me to have this dress.
I had to scale up the pattern to fit my bodacious bod, and I had to redo the bodice, but It turned out rather well I think. I added pleats instead of just gathering, as I think it is more slimming. I had to improvise the sleeves too, as my arms are just too big, and I like being able to move them freely.
I call it my “Briar Rose” dress because the cut out neckline reminds me of Briar Rose’s dress from Sleeping Beauty.
Some sort of very soft taffeta? Kind of satiny? Didn’t have a label. It’s a heavy, shiny fabric.
Trousers, blazers, and blouses in cool neutrals have model-off-duty style.
