I used a Vogue pattern for the top of this dress, then came up with the rest myself. The band on the bottom is the wrong side of the fabric, which i added for a little shape (if possible on this type of dress!) and contrast. Looks like a sack on the mannequin but great on!
Linen-like fabric with sheen.
Vogue v8380 for top, me for the rest.

I really like that type of neckline. I think I may make a dress with a similar neckline in the future! too many project ideas, not enough time.

Apriljay79, i love that idea! I think i’ll copy your idea (hope you don’t mind!) and we can compare finished product :)

oh wow, this is great, love it!! I’ve got this pattern too, and was going to do the same thing, but floor length & add a drop waist elastic casing.. Also I’ve used this very similar fabric to make a built by wendy dress, I get lots of comments on it. Great for evening wear on a basic pattern.
