Description
burdastyle dress, from 9/2012, mod 107 (or 108, 109)
..
never made this type of dress before
usually all the dresses i sew
has different pattern pieces for bodice and skirt
not this one, it’s way more simple
just back and front of the dress plus sleeves
it’s like an instant dress
..
fit was a bit off
dunno is it a design feature of not
but it was too loose at the back and at the waist
in the end i took it in some 10 cm (or 4 inches)
until i was satisfied with how it fitted
..
i haven’t used zipper
cause i’ve made the dress from jersey..
and the neckline is finished with facing
..

This looks cute on you but I am with you…I prefer the fit (at least on me) of the sheath dress with separate skirt and bodice. But the fit on this looks great.

yes, i agree.. that is why this is my first dress of this type (and i’ve made 100 dresses i guess).. i feel that those with separate bodice are better for us curvy ladies, and accentuate the waist in a best way possible.. with this one, i had to make lot of alterations not to look like an umpa lumpa :)

gorgeous dress, I love the shape(it really lets the print take centre stage)

I like it very much! It really suits you, plus it’s easier to sew than the two-piece dresses. For me this is one of the best burda patterns, ultra chic and versatile!
