My om had been wanting me to make her a new dress for a while. We bought a first fabric but they cut it too short and didn’t give me enough, so we went back out and she found this great printed silk at JoAnn’s in the clearance section for $5/yd!! The dress turned out great, even though I officially HATE sewing with silk, and my mom loves the dress. To make hemming easy on myself I used Stitch Witchery.

thanks!! stitch witchery is pretty much double sided tape. you iron it in place between two layers of fabric. I think there are other things that are the equivalent, but I don’t know of any. I guess you could say it’s like hem tape? I don’t know because I’ve never used that. stitch witchery is great stuff, though!

Thanks for your quick reply. I now know what you mean. I have this same tape but mine comes all the way from Germany and I think it is just called double sided tape!!!
