I made this for some beachside family photos. The belt is obi-inspired, and the shift is shaped from a simple dress that I purchased in Mexico several years ago. I had it hemmed shorter for the beach, but now that I’m at school it had to be dress code appropriate. :) I also made the necklace that I’m wearing. Oh, and I apologize for the fuzzy photos! Dorm rooms and laptops don’t really make for fantastic shots.
I used rayon, which is surprisingly soft and flowy! I had no idea that rayon could be made to imitate almost any natural fiber. I used snaps to secure the belt.
Hit the city streets in adventurous looks with utilitarian details like cargo pockets and belts.
Twists on feminine classics, like a bold patterned shift dress and pants with a racing stripe.
