I love this fabric, but it was interesting to work with! It’s a pleated tulle type fabric with opaque polka dots and it hangs beautifully, but I’ve never sewn with fabric that has its own pleating so it took a while for me to find a style I liked.
I love this babydoll dress though, it’s so cute!
The actual dress is unlined so that I can dress it up or down depending on what I wear underneath. It also meant that I could leave the edges unfinished, meaning the overall look is nice and crisp and light.
I used the Burda pattern linked, but only the very top of the bodice, which I lifted the neckline of. Then I just gathered rectangles for the base.
Take a trip down the aisle in these gorgeous gowns, or change the fabrics for a spring party dress.
