This is my submission for the Apron Remake Challenge. I decided to make the apron into pants for a more modern feminine flair. I used one of my favorite prints, lavender gingham and a solid seafoam green for the contrast cuffs, ties and waistband. Matching gingham bows were added for a bit of charm and ruffles at the pockets make the garment more lady-like.
This apron totally says, “I’m the WO-man!” We cook, we clean, we rock the house, ladies and with an apron like this we can still look great doing what we do! I had alot of fun with this and I’m glad I get to keep it for myself even if it doesn’t win!

Thanks, I wanted to break the apron mold. Skirts are great for covering a 50’s housewife dress, but we live in the jeans age. It’s time to set a new standard for the classic apron. I have 2 of these in my kitchen now. My hubby knows what’s up… lol. They’re both gingham. I may be a little bit obsessed with gingham. I’m looking into getting some help for that but there seem to be no therapists who specialize with patients who are fabric-crazy.
It didn’t make the running for the apron design contest, unfortunately. I think my submission was sent in too late. I only had 5 minutes to spare when I sent the email :o(
Next time I’ll try not to procrastinate. Haha.
