Description

Hmm…this was a pretty bad idea. I bought this great all over sequin fabric, not cheap and very stretchy thinking i could make an awesome dress. KateXXX did warn me when i asked if this would be easy, turns out no!! I never want to see a sequin again. To sew the seams i had to cut off and unpick about a million sequins that are now turning up all over the house no matter how much i vacuum! No hems i just dont have the patience and it would end up too short anyway (Its just 2 rectangles shaped to body)
Well in theory the dress is kinda cool for the Christmas period but i don’t think it suits me at all and I’m not sure i’d be brave enough to wear it anyway. And wow, does it itch! hehe

Oh dear, I was just about to launch into my own sequin extravaganza (a sequin top – the underlying fabric is chiffon. From the sounds of it, there probably couldn’t be a worse combination of hard-to-sew fabrics!) And I too am finding little bits of sparkle EVERYWHERE!!!

Ah well, I will carry on regardless. You have not deterred me, because you look fabulous! Wear it out for Halloween (tongue-in-cheek), if you feel you can’t wear it seriously. But know that it looks great :)

it looks wonderful! it is simple but because of the sequin it looks chic. You have the perfect body for a dress like this so do wear it (for christmas / party)

I think it suits you just fine. Why not to wear it? It may have been difficult, but the result is really good

you’re right! sewing sequins can be a challenge. to stop the itchies, try lining it with a stretchy slinky fabric. for the top, you could add a bias velvet or something over the edge… looks great, though! (and don’t we all know it sometimes hurts to be beautiful)
