Jacket with pointy shoulders.
Although I always make my own patterns and sew a lot, I decided to do a seriously involved project this time. I decided to re-think the fit of my earlier jackets and started with making a new jacket sloper. After many muslins, I got the fit right and then, I tried out a strange design element. The pointy shoulder. I liked it and decided to go for it.
The jacket itself is made from nice, densely woven wool fabric with horsehair interfacing, which I padstitched at the lapels and collar.
More ‘fun’ pictures of the jacket are here and here you can find pictures of some of its details.
wool fabric, Venezia lining fabric, horsehair canvas, kit for fabric covered buttons, piping

I think you just a 1940s sweater with shoulder pads underneath. Doesn’t anyone want to wear anything with shoulder pads these days? It’s not just for the runway, friends!
