Its a gift for the third birthday of my friends daughter. I find it always difficult to come up with gifts for children, especially if the birthday is shortly after Christmas and they already got everything. So how about a costume for the Kindergarten carnival party. Parents were asked before, they were not fond of princesses and fairies but liked the idea of an animal costume.
It’s a Burda pattern January 2013. The fin and tail are interfaced and filled with old pillow stuffing. The smallest size in the original pattern was 110, but the birthday girl is only 98 so I’ve just omitted the rib knit cuffs. They can be aded later on as she grows. On the other hand it was so much fun that i will make her a new costume next year.
There is something else I’ve learned doing this project. Making fotos with a cell phone might be fast but the quality is crap. I hope to get some picks of the birthday girl wearing this.

Awesome! This looks so cool. What a brilliant present idea. My niece and nephew are January babies and I always wonder what to make them.
