i have adored this dress since i first saw it posted to the site. i love the piping! the yoke provides a great opportunity to mix together fun patterns. i chose two silks – nice thick fabric with woven patterns. they worked quite well with this dress. constructing the dress was sometimes challenging, but enjoyably so. the lining helped me hone my invisible stitch skills! the fit is pretty excellent. it’s quite fitted through the shoulders… i might use a woven with some spandex if i were to make this dress again because i have rather broad shoulders. my only issue with the pattern is that if you follow the markings for the gathers at the bust, it’s all bunched up toward the center and it creates this funky boob effect. or maybe it’s just me. in any case, i was able to adjust the gathers to my liking. overall, i love this dress!

about the yoke/bust – it fits me right under the bust, though it creeps up a little. anyone who’s bigger than an A or B cup would probably need to make some adjustments. i really don’t know what this would involve, as obviously this has never been an issue for me! :) i think you’re on the right track with lengthening the bodice. good luck with that! and thanks all for the comments!

ooo Immule just gave me this site on my forum post about pant legs, but they also have one for bust adjustments. http://www.isew.co.uk/sewing_techniques/adjusting_bodices-c-00429.htm

I agree ViVi! I feel like the pattern may need ajusting for those of us with bigger busts. Anyone have any ideas on how to adjust patterns to different bust size without having to go to next size up?

Love it! I haven’t made a Shari yet but I’m a bit confused as to whether to yoke is supposed to sit across the bust or right under the bust? I imagine the gathers would look more flattering on me if the bodice was lengthened a bit and the yoke was below the bust, but I might be wrong.
