Shakira for Auntie

Added Jun 30, 2008

by ainglis85

Nashville, Tenne...

I made Shakira but shortened it to be a tunic since my aunt doesn’t wear dresses. I know my button placement is off but I don’t think it detracts terribly; it’s my first time making a button placket after all; I should have just done the middle button last instead of listening to the pattern markings. Well, this is for her birthday; hope it fits & she likes it!

Material Notes

Hanky weight irish linen

Thank you…this tells me more about the dress than the one on the skinny model.

Your aunt is going to be very pleased. The fabric looks very airy. I like the color contrast, nice job!

Your aunt should be very pleased with this. I like the contrasting colours. Your placket looks fine.

I would never have thought of making this pattern, but yours looks amazing. The colours work really well together.

I have never seen this pattern before. After your creation, I am gonna download it for sure. Is very nice and I like your idea of making it of two contrasting colors. If you are not used to wear a dress, you can wear it with a pair of jeans beneath and a nice pair of wedges !!! I am sure you will look hip and trendy!!
