Description
I fell in love with this fabric immediately as it as an inspiration of the sea. Have you ever notice how the sea has many different shades? It starts out lighter and gradual increase to a darker shade base on the angles that you are looking at. A pic is added at the end to show the inspiration.
I manipulated the fabric and made a long sleeve dress with cuffs. The dress has round neckline with a small opening that is enclosed with a loop and a button. The skirt has pleats at the front and is attaches underneath the bust line. The entire bodice is lined except the sleeves which I bound the edges. I use pearl buttons to enhance the sleeve. The style is inspired by a 2008 Project Runway.
Not totally satisfied as I tried very hard to line up the shades at the front with the back. But overall I love it and I think it has a little vintage vibes to it.
What do you think?

A super dress, love the colour , well done with pattern matching and the sleeves do turn it into 70s style, and you can’t beat a bit of 70s. Would look good as a maxi dress as well

this is advance level of pattern matching. last week I have done my first ever pattern matching with stripes and I’m quite satisfy but it was great mental effort that I need some rest from!

I love the two tone cuffs with the little buttons, adorable. Your dress is gorgeous on you, with a very nostalgic hippy – 70s feel to it which suits you very well. P.s. Your shoes are very sexy!!
