Simplcity 2444 in a Kitty Yoshida Brooklyn Heights fabric. I love love love this sewing pattern. I’ve sewn it up twice already and it’s simple and cute. The zipper isn’t lapped, so the technique is easy. The dress is actually sewn up front to back rather than top to bottom (bodice front to front skirt, bodice back to back skirt, then sewn together). A good pattern to alter the neckline, skirt, etc. I’m thinking of using it to teach sewing to a few friends who are eager to learn.
designer quilting cotton (It’s been hotly debated on the blogosphere, but I’m happily in the OK to sew apparel with quilting cottons camp) and a grosgrain ribbon tie.
