This is my submission for the Bernina party through the decades competition. My thinking was that mums to be deserve to look and feel sexy just as much as the rest of us, and the bump is no reason to dress boringly, or avoid parties. It is also a gift for my oldest friend, who is pregnant. She lives in Malta, so no pics of her in it just yet. My friend is a very small person, so finding maternity clothes that make her feel attractive has been hard. I sent her a smarter version of this, for work and shopping purposes, in a blue shweshwe. This is a much softer look, and I thought it would be great for Christmas parties. A pair of white gogo boots would look a dream with it.
I’ve taken my inspiration from the 60s fashion of a-line minis with knee high boots. As it’s winter in Malta, I’ve added 3/4 sleeves, with a bit of a flare.
