Description

I’m really happy this time I managed to sew along with Meg. I made some alterations to the pattern:
I shortened the sleeves and added leather ribbons to the neckline and the sleeve hems .
I also eliminated the buttons in the front, not only because I am lazy, but also because the fringe band around the waist would make the whole task even harder. Anyway the blouse is (too) roomy, so the buttons were practically useless.
Then I realised that my colorful summer collection was lacking matching, neutral colored pants . This post would be unfair to these really nice pants, as they are completely lost under the huge blouse. So I included some more photos with a different top. Actually, I think I like the pants more than the blouse…Not too tight, not too big, very comfy, very versatile…

Material Notes

Cotton voile for the blouse, stretch gabardine for the pants

The details are amazing! I have the pattern traced & the fabric on hand. I’m glad to see you didn’t do the buttons. It can do without. I like how you added your own touch to this pattern. Fabulous pants!

Super cool top Elpida, love the details, I have also made these trousers they are really comfy and a great wardrobe staple. Unfortunately mine turned out a little big, but I really want to make another pair, I love yours.

You are right Beccki…They are a little big around the waist. You are supposed to pull the waist down for a modern look, but I don’t like this idea. Actually, there was a note in the instructions saying that but I didn’ pay much attention. Now, when I walk they slip down a little bit but they stop in an “acceptable” position…

Gorgeous fabric in your top Elpida and you can’t go wrong with a neutral coloured pair of pants. All looks lovely on you as usual.

Great outfits! I really like this blouse pattern, and seeing yours, I think it looks better with leather ribbons instead of buttons. And these pants fit you perfectly!

Thank you! If I made it again, I would go down one size…All this volume is unecessary unless one is pregnant…When the wind blows it’s like a baloon!

Thank you! But now I’m in dispair…My machine collapsed on Thursday evening. I’ve taken it to the “doctor”…All my weekend sewing plans are cancelled….

Oh, you’re so sweet….It was the first time my machine ever crashed and I was so happy to find that good old man who repaired it, at a very low price and so close to my home…But it was the last machine he repaired in his career… He closed his business last Saturday after 37 years!

I like these pants too! On my favorites list already although have no immediate plans to make them, but they look great on you, maybe I should! The top is really interesting, cool fabric with cool details, loved how you positioned them :)

I would never put these pants on top of my long list, too. I’m usually attracted by more fancy models and leave the basic ones behind. But I was shocked to realise there was not a single monochrome garment in my closet…
