i finally jumped on the sewaholic bandwagon and made a pair of thurlow shorts. i could gush over these all day, the pattern is that awesome! i made a mccalls short pattern recently and was lamenting over how pant/short patterns omit some very basic details. so when the thurlow came along i bought it without hesitation!
this pattern has a fly facing, fly extension, pocket facings, welt pockets (and great instructions for making them!)… all the bells and whistles.
i made only cosmetic changes to the pattern, mostly to include topstitching to reinforce the side seams, crotch seam, welts, waistband, etc. i did french seams on the pocket bags, omitted the cuffs on the hem, and reversed the fly to zip from the right instead of the left.
