Supplies:
1 large towel – cut out the following:
1.For soles of slippers: 4 pieces – your foot measurement (from toes to heel) x foot width + a 1” (2.5 cm) frame around all pieces
2.For top of slippers: 4 pieces – measure across the top of slipper and add ½” (1.5 cm) to each side x 3” (7.5 cm) height
Heavy weight fusible interfacing
Scrap felt (cut into heart shapes)
½” (1.5 cm) wide bias tape
Step 1: Finish all pieces.
Step 2: For top of slippers: sew on heart shapes to two pieces. (The two remaining pieces will be used as a backing.)
Step 3: Place a piece with sewn-on hearts and a backing piece right sides together and sew bias tape to longer sides of the pieces.
Step 4: For soles: sew heart shape on one end of the slipper. Repeat for other slipper. (This will be the lining part of the slipper, and the two remaining pieces will be used as the bottom of the soles.)
Step 5: Sew the top of the slipper to lining piece by stay stitching around. Repeat for other slipper.
Step 6: Apply interfacing to bottom pieces of the soles.
Step 7: With right sides together, pin lining and sole together, then stay stitch around. Repeat for other slipper.
Step 8: Sew bias tape around both slippers.
